Breathe Innovation

#BreatheInnovation

This CF Awareness Month, we are introducing Breathe Innovation, a campaign focused on sharing more about the potential of mRNA therapeutics to treat lung diseases like CF!

How can mRNA therapeutics for pulmonary disease potentially work? Learn more from our Chief Scientific Officer, Richard Wooster!

What gives the CF community hope about the potential of mRNA to treat CF? Stay tuned!

May is Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Awareness Month. More than 70,000 people worldwide live with CF, and for one in ten of them, there are currently no effective, disease-modifying treatments available. At Translate Bio, we are focused on developing messenger RNA (mRNA) therapeutics for pulmonary diseases, including CF.  We believe mRNA therapies have an important role to play in treating CF, because mRNA therapeutics have the potential to treat all CF patients regardless of their genetic mutation.

Over the last several years, we have developed web and social media campaigns in support of CF Awareness Month, including our Translating Now panel in 2019 and 5on5 series in 2020. This year, we are expanding on these efforts by launching Breathe Innovation with the goal of sharing more information about how mRNA therapeutics work, and why they could be transformative in treating lung diseases like CF. We hope that our work at TBio to develop potentially transformative mRNA therapeutics for lung diseases will help many people breathe in hope for a future with more effective, potentially life-saving treatment options.

#AskAResearcher Series

Throughout the last two weeks of May, we will be posting new videos from TBio’s scientists and researchers working on mRNA therapeutics to treat pulmonary diseases! Stay tuned!

Question 1: How can mRNA therapeutics potentially work to treat lung diseases?

Question 2: How do mRNA therapeutics differ from mRNA vaccines?

Question 3: While there have been significant advancements in the CF drug development, 10% of the CF population still does not benefit from currently approved medicines. What role could mRNA therapeutics potentially play in treating CF?

Question 4: What is the potential impact of mRNA therapeutics in treating lung diseases?
