Job Summary
Translate Bio is developing nucleic acid therapies to transform the lives of patients suffering from severe rare diseases with high, unmet clinical needs. This position is an outstanding opportunity for a highly motivated, collaborative, and innovative researcher with a strong background in induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) to join our Pulmonary Discovery group. The successful candidate will be part of the in vitro iPSC disease modelling team. Job Responsibilities
  • Culture and maintain iPSC lines and primary cells for downstream differentiation applications
  • Perform iPSC directed-differentiations to establish in vitro lung disease-models 
  • Conduct laboratory techniques including flow cytometry, sorting, microscopy, RNA extraction and RT-qPCR
  • Detailed record keeping of observations, results, and analysis
  • Analyze results, provide updates and present scientific findings at team meetings
  • Work on weekends (shift basis) as per iPSC tissue culture needs
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong hands-on experience with iPSC culture system (maintenance of pluripotent stem cell cultures, characterization, and differentiation)
  • Successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of work-experience or master’s degree with 5+ years’ experience
  • Hands-on experience with a variety of cell-based and molecular biology readout technologies, such as FACS, flow cytometry, qPCRELISA, immunostaining, high-content and microscopy such as confocal imaging
  • Fast-acting and efficient with a commitment to scientific excellence- Moves quickly, thinks critically, and is proactive with a strong work ethic to produce high-quality results while fostering a positive work environment.
  • Well organized with attention to detail, and ability to document experimental observations and results in a timely manner
  • Experience with software’s such as GraphPad/SPSS for data analysis
